If you don't track this fact, then you probably don't realize that in the past several months, directors of public libraries are quietly retiring. Who's ready to take their place? Do we have enough qualified librarians who actually want to direct a public library and navigate it through all the challenges libraries are facing in the face of dwindling tax dollars and the resonating impact that the generations of post Baby-Boomer patrons/users who rely primarily if not solely upon the Internet for information and recreation? Any thoughts out there?
