"The ICAC Task Force Program was created to help State and local law enforcement agencies enhance their investigative response to offenders who use the Internet, online
communication systems, or other computer technology to sexually exploit children. The program is currently composed of 61 regional Task Force agencies and is funded by the United States Office Of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
The ICAC Training & Technical Assistance Program was established to assist these agencies with training and technical assistance in support of their Internet Crimes Against Children initiatives. Our Program is meant to be a resource to the ICAC Task Force. In addition to providing training to Task Force agencies and their Affiliates, we also offer technical assistance services. Technical assistance can take many forms, such as delivering specialized training, providing model policies or even assisting a Task Force
with securing an experienced and knowledgeable presenter for a conference they are sponsoring. Listed below is a brief explanation of some of the resources we have to offer.
ICAC Training & TA Program Collaboration Portal: Our Program is currently in the process of building a
collaboration portal site that will supplement our existing public web site as well as offer additional resources to Task Force and Affiliate members and our students. It is scheduled to be launched by the end of November 2009. We are very excited about this project and the additional resources
that we will be able to offer in a secure environment.
We will be posting additional information as we get closer to launching this site so please stay tuned!

Our Mission
"Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the media and entertainment lives of kids and families. We exist because media and entertainment profoundly impact the social, emotional, and physical development of our nation's children. As a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, we provide trustworthy information and tools, as well as an independent forum, so that families can have a choice and a voice about the media they consume."
-
- We believe in media sanity, not censorship.
- We believe that media has truly become "the other parent" in
our kids' lives, powerfully affecting their mental, physical, and social
development. - We believe in teaching our kids to be savvy media interpreters
-- we can’t cover their eyes but we can teach them to see. - We believe parents should have a choice and a voice about the
media our kids consume. Every family is different but all need information. - We believe that the price for free and open media is a bit of
extra homework for families. Parents need to know about media content and need
to manage media use. - We believe that through informed decision making, we can
improve the media landscape one decision at a time. - We believe appropriate regulations about right time, right
place, and right manner exist. They need to be upheld by our elected and
appointed leaders. - We believe in age-appropriate media and that the media
industry needs to act responsibly as it creates and markets content for each
audience. - We believe ratings systems should be independent and
transparent for all media. - We believe in diversity of programming and media
ownership.

classroom schedule (special versions of our programs are also available for home use). Best of all, our programs succeed at getting the message across without “another lecture.”

In addition, we have a special learning program sponsored in part by the Office of Justice (United States Department of Justice) and designed just for Parents called Wired With

Thanks to the help of a vast team of community partners (including teachers, law enforcement officers and community youth leaders) millions of children have
benefited from our programs. Web Wise Kids is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Southern California. Since 2000, Web Wise Kids has been committed to preventing online child victimization by providing innovative and
