In the first post, "Top 10 Ways to Wake-up Students in Class", Michelle Doman shared some great tips and tricks she uses in her own Middle School classroom to keep students engaged... and now, we've brought her back to share some more ideas!
The wave of the future is here especially for education. Terms like 21st Century Computing, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), and Cloud Computing, are mainstream. The introduction of mobile devices, iPods, netbooks, and more specifically the iPad has brought technology to more students then ever before. A 1 to 1 environment(1 student per 1 technology device) is not only a possibility but a reality in more school districts then people realize. W/ all that being said I have decided to create a list of my 10 favorite sites for finding educational apps.
A few months ago, Facebook recognized that a guide like this was needed. They asked me to write it. I accepted the offer on the condition that I could write without filtering or restrictions from Facebook. Facebook saw the value of a candid third-party opinion and agreed.
iLoveSchools.com works with teachers, schools and districts, encouraging kids to stay in school while helping them gain a lifelong love for learning. We match America's school teachers with individual, group and corporate donors of new, used or in-kind classroom resources. Donors select the classrooms receiving their donation as well as tell us how much we can use to cover our administrative costs.

The Google Teacher Academy is a FREE professional development experience designed to help K-12 educators get the most from innovative technologies. Each Academy is an intensive, one-day event where participants get hands-on experience with Google's free products and other technologies, learn about innovative instructional strategies, receive resources to share with colleagues, and immerse themselves in an innovative corporate environment. Upon completion, Academy participants become Google Certified Teachers who share what they learn with other K-12 educators in their local region.
One of the goals of the Center is to prepare K-12 teachers to integrate technology effectively in their content areas. Each content area represented here includes lesson plans.
