Slightly confusing, but what the headline really means is "there are many instances where police used more bullets against 1 person than Germany used in an entire year against all criminals in the country".

Now, if you extrapolate out the fact that the U.S. population is almost 4 times that of Germany's, the real number to compare is not 85 shots, but about 340 shots.

Contrast to America, where *to stop a reckless driver* last year, police fired over 110 shots, including shooting 7 innocent bystanders. We routinely shoot unarmed people 40-90 times.

Yeah.... It's not just our larger population at work. When our police use more bullets in a single incident than a country previously associated with fascism does all year -- it gives one major pause at how fucked up and broken our system is, and how piss-poor our over-militarized, trigger-happy police operate.

Not making assumptions here. I've worked them them, eaten lunch with them, and heard them talk about how they want someone to cause them to have a chance to shoot them. It's sickening.

But anyway, here's a story of a Jewish person who turned in the person raping his child, and was shunned by his community, harassed, and kicked out of his residence.

Hasidic Jews, that is. These are the hardcore orthodox types. People who take their supernatural beliefs way too seriously, and then inflict them on other people.

Religion has got to be one of the top enemies for children.

(Islam is even worse in that they don't need to worry about covering up chid rape quite as much as the other religions, because Mohamad set the awesome example of marrying a six year old while he was in his 50s, and Sharia says you execute the rape victim, not the rapist, so what's left to cover up?)

In general, fuck religious people. Even the ones that do no wrong help prop up communities like this by passing on supernatural beliefs that have nothing to do with the modern-day world. If you don't like my attitude, here is a cup of I don't give a fuck that you can drink.

This is basically looking like the same bullshit the pope and various bishops have pulled repeatedly.

home of the brave here.. not charged, ends up in intensive care due to negligence of a government that's supposed to protect us, not injure us.

And your tax dollars paid for this. Funny how the worst stories are never about a white person.

The DEA is an evil organization. They do not make the world better. They are a waste of tax dollars. And Obama has done nothing to stop them, and in fact has empowered them.

And how the fuck are their bags of methamphetamine in a DEA holding cell anyway? DEA is incapable of administering themselves! Why do they even have their own holding cells?

Bad cops are "just a few bad apples"?  Kinda like how just a few of the Germans were bad during WW2, eh?  Pointed out in the comments is that the phrase "a few bad apples" comes from the origin whereby a few bad apples sealed in a barrel full of good apples will ruin all the other apples. The whole figure of speech of "A few bad apples", as commonly used, is incorrect. A few bad apples after the fact means your whole barrel went rotten.

I did not realize this.

So anyway... Here's what happens when you're a good apple. If you literally stop police from beating up an innocent person, as a cop, your job will be put on the line. Her department is calling her "psychologically unfit for duty" and trying to fire her.

She's also the first lesbian cop there.

video appearance at: http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery/69454161/News/Officer-Regina-Tasca-On-Being-Suspended-For-Not-Lying-About-Fellow-Cops-apos-Actions

So if you wonder why people think cops are assholes -- look no further than stories like this compared and contrasted to the neverending constant barrage of abuse of power performed by those with badges.

Funny how they are bringing up old bad things she supposedly did as reasons to get rid of her - reasons only brought up after this. I've seen such tactics used before, both in the news and in real life. :/

Yes people -- there is a literal bounty on our head. When you wonder if that cop is going to shoot you, just be reminded that he'll get paid $300 to $500 if he does kill and shoot you.  As if the pigs need more incentive to  shoot people. This is ridiculous.

Anyone paying a modicum of attention has  seen how bounties in Afghanistan resulted in innocent people sent to Guantanamo for years (and not released for years even after the government realized they were innocent).

The amazing thing is all the comments supporting this practice. A literal bounty on the head of taxpayers. Shoot us and you get a reward. Our tax dollars at work. PUBLIC unions at work.

This is pretty damning. Journalist releases something USA and Yemen lied to their people about. Wikileaks then verifies it. Yemen imprisons journalist as if he's a terrorist for saying something America doesn't like. Local leaders and Amnesty International get mad.

Pardon is drafted up. Obama then literally called Yemen when they had the pardon written up, in order to ensure that this journalist stay in jail and the pardon disappear. Which happens after the phone call.

This is direct action. This is not Congress's fault, this is not Obama being a puppet of vast machinery he has no control of.

And oh, we still have secret prisons just like under the Bush Administration. Obama just tricked Obama-supporters into thinking he stopped Bush's practice. He did not. As usual, Obama continues Bush's practices, but more secretively.

And at this point, is The New York Times even worth wiping one's ass on? This is the paper that knew we were being wiretapped by the government, and sat on the story for a year. Among many other things, New York Times is now, to me, the least reliable major newspaper in existence.

And this is why I no longer check organ donor on my driver's license. If you're going to make 2 million dollars from my organs, Carolyn should get those profits, not some for-profit corporate hospital. Hey Carolyn? When I'm dead, negotiate a better deal than $0.

Honestly, if we all could take a line of credit out against our future organs, there'd probably be no student loans left ;)

Okay. That's all a bit fallacious because not all hospital costs are profit -- even though we pay way more for the same procedure here in America than in most places, and a lot of it certainly is profit, and I do think we should get something for it. 10% finder fee.

But Carolyn not being the ultimate decider? FUCK. THAT. That's the real crux.

Yup. If you are a 17 year old passenger in a car that sideswipes an off  duty cop, the cop can chase you down, fire indiscriminately in a car full of 5 teenagers, and NOT GET CHARGED FOR SHOOTING YOU AND  PUTTING YOU IN THE HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION.

Is it any wonder people don't respect american authority? American authority does not submit to law. They are simply thugs who do what they want -- and the system lets them, which is why they do it.

No charges. For shooting an unarmed teenage passenger in the back after chasing down their car in road rage. The officer is not even named. Fucking ridiculous.

Wow. This is really disturbing and sad. To have to call 911 AFTER shooting yourself in the head. Wow. You gotta love how the cops come in and the first thing they're concerned about is that he not move his hands (cause they'd probably shoot him).  This is a painful 911 call to listen to.

And this is a good thing.

I mean, it's not as good as the fucking cops actually doing the job they're paid to do.

But when tax revenues dry up and there aren't any police -- the armed populace are the only ones who can actually do anything about it.

You gotta love that after 10 years of this, the guy takes back his apology, says "I believe the sex abuse thing was incredibly good", and repeated a bunch of other falsehoods. This is one of the highest-ranking members in America. Fuck religion, and fuck rape.

All caught on video. Because smart black people know that catching it on video is the only way anybody is ever going to believe anything (if you're black). And once again, the truth comes out: Like every nation to ever invade Afghanistan in the past 150 years, we will leave without significantly changing anything.

Obama's not stupid, had to have known this, sent in more troops than Bush ever had, and did so after promising to end our unnecessary Bush-era wars. But instead we had more troop deaths under Obama, and lost tons of tax money fighting a fight that made no real difference. Bin Laden wasn't even found there!

Does that sound like Saudi Arabia? North Korea? Turkey? Iran? Nope, that's America.

People - don't tell the government you think your friends are suicidal. They are not your friend in that situation.

The same Iceland the rewrote a new constitution recently?

It's seeming that Iceland is becoming a new example of how a democracy for the people should really be run.

Too big to fail? Fuck you. Fail all you want. No bailout. No capitulation to outside interests.

Iceland is acting more american than the USA!

It's sad that they had to mention the tea party as the only americans who get this. I think the occupy movement probably should have been mentioned as well.
