Monday September 11, 2006
Parenting Special Needs class is back in session, with instruction each school day from now to the end of the month on special education words and concepts you need to be familiar with. At each week's end, there will be a quiz on material covered; check last week's to see what you're in for. Today's topic is speech therapy, or speech-language pathology, or speech class, or just plain speech, or whatever your district and your school and your therapist and your child happens to call it. What does speech therapy involve, and what sort of things do therapists do to help? Open your Web browsers to our definition of speech therapy and begin reading. Then catch up with last week's course work through the links below.

Speech Therapy Ideas & Activities
'Created as an activity resource for new speech therapists and apprentices who came out of college with lots of theory and not a whole lot of practical ideas for therapy.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
I'm currently adding activities for teenagers, especially geared toward inclusion. Many of these activities are listed on both "language games" and on "activities for teens." I began adding 8-27-4 and will be working on it in the next few days or weeks.
