...his thiotimoline story made him famous among chemists and scientists in general in a way that his science fiction never did. It also suggested to him the possibilities of writing more on actual science topics, and he credited this story with launching his second career as a science writer, one that actually ended up far outstripping his science fiction career, in sheer volume of work if not necessarily in renown.
That said, there is probably at least one group for whom the word "thiotimoline" dredges up nothing but bad memories. That group, of course, is the poor librarians of New York City: ...
Caroline Skinner has become one of the most important people in British television science fiction and fantasy, almost overnight. She produced The Fades, the horror-fantasy series which took England by storm, and which hits BBC America this Saturday. And now she's the new executive producer of Doctor Who, replacing Piers Wenger and Beth Willis.
We were lucky enough to talk to Skinner exclusively on the phone today, and she told us what to expect from both Doctor Who and The Fades. ...
The Hunger Games, are fast approaching and this is our first chance to see images of our favorite tributes and characters. Take a look at white-haired Effie, the gold eye-linered Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, and little Rue!
The folks at SF Signal have taken the exhausting task of taking all one hundred books and series from NPR’s viewer’s choice list of the greatest science fiction and fantasy books in history, and throwing them onto a flowchart that tells you which ones would suit you. I consider it pretty accurate, since following my own tastes across its twisting streams resulted only in finding my favorite books of the genres.

Falling Skies had a hard time grappling with those issues, because the aliens were still invading, and the more interesting question was always going to be, "How do we fight back?" But now, Spielberg has a new show on the air, which is much more focused on the issue of building a new society from the ground up.

...we take for granted the idea that if you go travel back in time and interact with your own past, you can create a huge crazy time paradox. But who first came up with this idea?
This is insufferable. I am only half way through Doctor Who, Elfquest, The Venture Bros., and Wonder Woman 101, a new patch dropped this week, and now I can watch all of Next Generation, Voyager, Enterprise and two seasons of the Original Series of Star Trek, and all of the 1992 X-Men Series instantly on Netflix.
When on earth am I going to find the time to dick around on the internet?!
It's finally here: award-winning author Neil Gaiman's episode of Doctor Who is airing this weekend. We've seen it, and here's our absolutely spoiler-free review.
