National Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament - International Academy of Dispute Resolution
An examination of mediation from the perspective of high school students in the role of disputants, an initial exploration
The focus of this study was the mediation program that was instituted as part of the Kildonan East Collegiate Conflict Resolution Initiative. The purpose of this thesis was to collect and analyze the experiences of students who have had their conflicts resolved through mediation. These experiences were collected through a process of detailed interviews. This area of research, the disputants' perceptions and understandings of their experiences in the mediation process, and the method of collecting data, detailed interviews, were se ected because of the little attention this area has garnered in previous research and that most of the data that was collected in this area was done by survey that failed to capture the richness and fullness of the disputants' experiences. The results of these interviews tend to indicate that ediation offers the school administration an effective option in resolving student conflict and that mediation may have the potential to impact on how students resolve subsequent conflicts. Narrative Experiences of school personnel using Conversation Peace RJ mediation
Narratively explores the experiences of five public school counsellors and one high school teacher using Conversation Peace, a restorative action peer mediation program published jointly in 2001 by Fraser Region Community Justice Initiatives Association (CJI), Langley, British Columbia, Canada, and School District #35, Langley, British Columbia, Canada. This categorical-content analysis (Lieblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber, 1998) resulted in data describing 20 common themes, 12 with similar responses, and 8 with varying responses amongst participants. Two of the similar findings were the crucial importance of (a) confidentiality within the mediation process, and (b) the school counsellor’s role within the overall and day-to-day implementation of this peer mediation program. Two of the varying findings were (a) the time involvement of the school counsellor within the peer mediation program, and (b) the differences in the number of trained peer mediators and peer mediations within schools.

Resolution Through Mediation: Solving a Complex International Business Problem
Discover the value of resolving trademark conflicts through mediation with this 40-minute informative video, which demonstrates a mock mediation session. Setting the stage with a business dispute between a Russian distillery and an American manufacturer and distributor of alcoholic products, the video reviews how two parties are able to use a mediator to settle their differences. Allegations of unfair trade practices, trademark and trade dress infringements and bad faith pirating dominate the dispute. The video uses an actual INTA mediator and INTA members as talent, and was introduced in May 2003 to attendees of INTA's 125th Anniversary Annual Meeting in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
