Rare Book Room
"The "Rare Book Room" site has been constructed as an educational site intended to allow the visitor to examine and read some of the great books of the world.
Over the last decade, a company called "Octavo" digitally photographed some of the world ’s great books from some of the greatest libraries. These books were photographed at very high resolution (in some cases at over 200 megabytes per page).
This site contains all of the books (about 500) that have been digitized to date. These range over a wide variety of topics and rarity. The books are presented so that the viewer can examine all the pages in medium to medium-high resolution."

The 39 Clues
The 39 Clues is a series of fantasy adventure books, the first of which, The Maze of Bones, written by Percy Jackson and the Olympians author Rick Riordan, deals with the death of fictional character Grace Cahill. The grandmother of main characters Amy and Dan, Grace dies and leaves with them a will that invites them to search the globe for thirty-nine clues. Upon completing the offer, the winners are said to become the "richest, most important people in history." Riordan will also cover the main story arc, although a team of authors has been signed, each author to write one or more of the following books in the series. The series is unique in that it will allow readers to compete online and through a trading card game for prizes. Along with writing the first book, Riordan will continue to oversee the progressive story arc.
World Literature Online
Although designed to accompany "The Bedford Anthology of World Literature," there is so much useful and interesting background material in this site that it is useful for any literature study. Included are materials on "Culture and Context," an interactive map which directs the user to materials relevant to specific countries or areas, and timelines. One of the most interesting features is a section called "World Lit in the 21st Century," which makes connections between themes in specific pieces of world literature from across the ages, to events, people or ideas of our time. The set of LitLinks provides biographies of writers from around the world and across the ages.
