TwitterLocal

A service that will generate an RSS feed for you of all the tweets within a specified distance of a specified location. Kind of cool to find out what the latest news in your town is, at least for the digerati residents.

egorcast

  • Interesting concept.  These guys set up an email service that will send posts to Twitter, Jaiku and Wordpress.  You can use your email account with Jott.com and therefore "call in posts" to those services.  Nifty!

IMified - Instant Productivity

  • My new favorite toy!  A service that lets you communicate with web APIs via IM.  Post to sites such as Twitter, Del.icio.us Tumblr, Wordpress blogs and more through your IM client.  Create your own widgets (bots) to connect to your other favorite services.  It's awesome!

Virtual City

  • A concept similar to the map service offered by MS Live where you can tour a location with photos of the surrounding areas. A GMap mashup. Pretty cool idea and fast loading... - bluecockatoo on 2006-11-29

MapLib.net - Hosting your maps Powered by Google Maps

  • This has a lot of interesting potential. Use Google's map marker interface to create your own "maps". Useful for game grids or even "non-teritorial" stuff... I still think it would be an interesting experiment to create a calendar that uses map space... - bluecockatoo on 2006-11-29

Flickcha - a little mashlet on TWOCrowds

  • Interesting use of flickr to create a catchpa, but has several "holes" as pointed out here... still something to think about more as a possibility... - bluecockatoo on 2006-09-25

Flickr Cameras

  • A site that lets you browse images on Flickr by the camera they were taken with. A handy way to do comparison shopping for cameras you're considering buying... assuming that the pictures aren't post-processed with Photoshop or the like! - bluecockatoo on 2006-09-25

Wackylabs.Net » Flickr Screensaver 4.0

  • Nice piece of software for Windows XP... screensaver that pulls from your Flickr account (or other Flickr params you specify). Works on dual monitors too. - bluecockatoo on 2006-09-25

Virtual Places

  • Very cool. A map mashup based on Virtual Earth that tracks bloggers, company websites, photos from flickr and more information as pinpoints on the map. Integrated with geobloggers. Developed by an MS employee, only works in IE. - bluecockatoo on 2006-08-23
