BibDesk | Home

  • BibDesk is a bibliographic reference manager for Mac OS X. BibDesk is designed to help organize and use bibliographic databases in BibTeX .bib format. In addition to manual typing, BibDesk lets you drag & drop or cut & paste .bib files into the bibliographic database and automatically opens files downloaded from PubMed. BibDesk also keeps track of electronic copies of literature on your computer and allows for searching your database through several keys.

BibSonomy::

  • BibSonomy is a system for sharing bookmarks and lists of literature. When discovering a bookmark or a publication on the web, you can store it on our server. You can add tags to your entry to retrieve it more easily. This is very similar to the bookmarks/favorites that you store within your browser. The advantage of BibSonomy is that you can access your data from whereever you are. Furthermore, you can discover more bookmarks and publications from your friends and other people.

BibSonomy :: about

  • BibSonomy is run by the Knowledge & Data Engineering Group
    of the University of Kassel, Germany.
    This system is intended to support everyone, but in particular researchers,
    in sharing bookmarks and bibliographies. One main reason is that we have to deal with bibliographic data all the time,
    needed a more coherent way to manage our bibtex data. Another - even more important - reason for setting up BibSonomy
    is that social resource sharing systems are very popular nowadays, but do still lack theoretical foundations. Our aim
    is to tackle the research challenges that arise around systems like BibSonomy, and to provide more sophisticated support
    for tasks like browsing, searching, ranking, and community discovery.
