Decades-old Codelco Chilean military copper funding law may be abolished
Chilean President Michelle Bachelet has endorsed a bill that repeals Chile's Copper Reserve Law, which requires the world's largest copper miner, state-owned Codelco to give 10% of its profits to the armed forces.

SANTIAGO -(Dow Jones)- Copper output at Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile, or Codelco, the world's largest copper mining company, rose in the first quarter to 371,000 metric tons from 347,000 tons a year earlier, Codelco Chief Executive Jose Pablo Arellano said Thursday.
