There are paradoxes in this issue like other aspects of politics in Iran; the government censoring of the Internet does not follow a systematic pattern and the more famous the blogger the harder it is for the authorities to harass her/him. The recent death of Mirsayafi in the Evin prison - a less known blogger with an obscure blog who insulted the supreme leader - demonstrates these paradoxes well.

Dann schrieb ich tatsächlich, was ich gerade mache. Irgendwann hatte ich Twitterkumpels. Twitter ist ein offensives Panoptikum und Bühne, dieses Prinzip bleibt. In irgendeiner Form, aber es bleibt.
Big Brother war so ein Format, da hat ein TV-Sender für sich interessante Charaktere mittels Schnitt und tendenziöser Berichterstattung so in Szene gesetzt, wie es für Quote sinnvoll war. Bei Twitter geht das nicht. Jeder regiert sich selbst und doch wieder nicht. -
Wenn mir Menschen in echt was vortanzen mit Ihren Täschchen und skurrilen Erscheinungen, mit ihren ordniären Geländefahrzeugen wo gar kein Gelände ist und ihrer hässlichen Haut, den Blick nicht standhalten könnend, halt leben, dann ist das nicht immer besser, als wenn es gilt im Internet die pure Gedankenwelt aufzubauen und dann zu entscheiden. Selten will ich Hüllen haben. Es sollen Kerle sein und Weiber, die ihre Schnute öffnen können und wo kein brisanter Müll herauspurzelt, sondern Inhalt, Witzigkeit, Wortwitz und konservierte Kindlichkeit, Bildung auch, was verstehen von der Kunst und vom Sein. Das kann ich checken, in den vielen Momenten aus 140 Zeichen und ich kann mir die Brut zusammensuchen und ich muss ihr nicht laufend zuhören, weil sie ja auch ihre Schwächen und ihre lauen Momente hat. Das kann ich machen, weil wir d´Accord sind, weil wir wissen, dass wir nicht ständig aufmerksam und gebannt vor der Zeitleiste sitzen und weil es kein Chat und kein Telefonat ist, weil Fragen nicht direkt gestellt, sondern an die Allgemeinheit gerichtet werden.

Twitter hat seine bisher umfangreichste Finanzierung erhalten, und das, ohne aktiv nach neuem Kapital gesucht zu haben. Trotz fehlendem Geschäftsmodell ist dies nachvollziehbar. Kaum ein Webdienst hat derartiges Potenzial. Und Vergleiche mit dem kurzen Second-Life-Hype sind falsch.

Vergleiche mit dem kurzen Second Life-Hype um 2006 hinken stark. Dient die virtuelle Welt primär der Unterhaltung und des Zeitvertreibes, bringt Twitter für User eine ganze Reihe von sehr individuellen Mehrwerten mit sich.
