  • Principals have looked to new teachers as a solution to the technology gap. Newer teachers may be more open to learning how to use technology, but they are also trying to gain teaching experience and classroom management in their first years. While newer teachers may come in with more technical skills due to having taught themselves, technology integration is not being modeled or taught in their pre-service coursework

NSF MSP Wishlist - GeoGebraWiki

  • • Using GeoGebra and other tools for creating effective classwork, homework, quiz and test exercises that can be incorporated as part of student assessments. The results of these exercises would be integrated into Pinnacle grade recorder application for student assessment and grades. The output of these GeoGebra based assessments would be formatted in a way that could be readily incorporated into a database. So provide an alternative to traditional assessments- this could be constructing a triangle and demonstrating with this construction what the centroid of a triangle is.

How could you incorporate Diigo into your classroom/session setting in a pegagogically sound way? | Diigo

  • I created a list to one of my courses where my students themselves brought a video about environment : A beautiful lie.
It was a really good experience because of the richness of their comments. Some of them in a good English , some of them in Spanglish.
  • It's easier than that!!!

I made a list, you can create it with : My list.
I chose three pages I wanted my students to visit and added those pages to the list.
I read them and highlighted the main ideas.
You have to be careful with that option. Make it public, if don't, your students won't be able to see the highlighted paragraphs. (it was my first mistake, hahaha)

With the sticky notes tool I added the activities, public , too.
Then I went to WEBSLIDES option . Once there you go to customize slides (if you want to ) and finally, to GET WEBSLIDES WIDGETS.
You copy the URL and paste it in your blog or website.

    And VOILA !!!

Three Uses of Diigo in the History and Language Arts Classroom | Beyond School

  • Here’s one more tutorial, 4 minutes, on using Diigo on Scribe blogs as test review sheets, with students as members of a Diigo Group. I just trained my students today in AP Lit, set them up on the class Diigo Group, and “shared” my highlights and annotations of the class scribe posts (it only works on permalinks, not on main blog pages) with the kisAP07 group. They use that as “test reviw.”
  • My students have joined the Group. Now when they go to their web-logs, after logging in to their Diigo account and setting “Show Annotations > Show Group Annotations” on their Diigo toolbar, they will see the highlights of specific passages from their writing that I have left (and I can start students doing this too, it occurs to me in a very attractive flash), and my annotations will pop up on their screen when they hover their mouse over the highlights.

  • They could pass a test with flying colors but had considerable difficulty transferring knowledge and skills from one unit to the next.
  • Assessment of the design projects occurs in several ways.
