AirPort Extreme Base Station
Updated network device remains extremely good at its job
by Scott McNulty, Macworld.com
Think back to the first time you saw a computer accessing the Internet wirelessly. (Yes, kids, there was a time before Wi-Fi). It totally blew your mind, didn’t it? Since then, Wi-Fi base stations have become something of a commodity. The new AirPort Extreme Base Station (2009 edition) might not bring that first thrill of wonder back to Wi-Fi, but it certainly crams an incredible amount of power into a tiny, low-price box.

Specifically designed for reports, presentations, and problem sets where you need to produce sharp-looking graphs on the fly, OmniGraphSketcher combines the data plotting power of charting applications with the ease of a basic drawing program.
Add as many lines as you like to represent goals, cutoffs, or other boundaries. Shade in areas, connect and align objects, and add labels anywhere on the graph as you go. Enter data visually with a click of the mouse, and if your data is already in a spreadsheet or database program, just copy and paste it right into OmniGraphSketcher.
OmniGraphSketcher has an intuitive and simple interface so that you can quickly find what you want, while behind-the-scenes algorithms take care of all the details. It's an ideal solution for anyone who needs to make plots and graphs without the hassle of using a complicated data visualization program.

Leopard Printer Driver Gripes |at : PlayControl Software
So printer support has been an annoyance to me recently. I upgraded my systems to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. It seems that printer drivers are a problem for me. First, I have an old Lemark Optra S 1625 laser printer (bought used). The Tiger drivers worked fine, but in Leopard, almost all the drivers for the Lexmark Optra series no longer exist. Fortunately, the printer understands PostScript 2 and HPL-6 so there are generic drivers I can use. This was one of the reasons I paid extra to get a PostScript printer.
