We're animals - we have animal brains. All animal brains have the circuitry in place for producing operant conditioning. It's a fundamental psychological process, and just the sort that can create behaviours what operate automatically, or in spite of our consciously telling ourselves we should do otherwise. Like me checking my checking my email. Checking email is a behaviour that has variable interval reinforcement. Sometimes, but not everytime, the behaviour produces a reward. Everyone loves to get an email from a friend, or some good news, or even an amusing web link. Sometimes checking your email will get you one of these rewards.
I have just proved to myself how automatic my email checking behaviour has become.
isolated from conscious knowledge, and in part from deliberate control;
By looking at each stage of the process by which a behaviour becomes conditioned, we can throw up ideas for addressing the problem of 'unconditioning' them.
If a behaviour isn't rewarded then it will gradually disappear.
Weaking the stimulus-action association
Changing the consistency of the environmental trigger could work
Shifting the cost-benefit ratio

A classical approach to changing habits is to shift the cost-benefit pay-off.
If checking or reading email is made harder to do, mayhbe we can increase the cost of the action and hence make the overall reward of getting email less.

RUSKA
SALATA

Materijal: 500 gr sargarepe, 500 gr bele zeleni, 4 osrednja
krompira, pola konzerve graska, nekoliko kiselih krastavaca,
3 jaja, 100 gr sunke, konzerva mesnog nareska, 50 gr parizera.

Za majonez: 1 zumance, malo soli, malo secera, biber, limunov
sok i kasicica senfa.

Priprema: obariti u jednom loncu sargarepu, krompir i zelen,
pa sve ocediti i iseci na kockice. Grasak izruciti u iseckano
povrce pa dodati na koturove isecene krastavce. Obariti jaja,
pa iseckana belanca staviti u napravljenu masu, a zumance
propasirati kroz cediljku u kojoj cete mutiti majonez. Majonez
praviti na sledeci nacin: zivo zumance, so, malo secera, limunov
sok i kasicicu senfa izmesati u jednu masu dolivajuci ulje.
Ne zaboraviti toj masi dodati i kuvana zumanca. Kada se napravi
majonez dodati mu na kockice isecene suhomesnate proizvode
i povrce. Sve dobro izmesati i ostaviti da se ohladi i sluziti
je hladnu.
FRANCUSKA
SALATA

Obariti 2 veca krompira u ljusci, oljustiti i tople ih iseci
na tanke kolutove. Krompir staviti u posudu i dodati 2 oljustene
i sitno isecene jabuke, 2 sake kuvanog pasulja, glavicu kuvanog
i na kocke isecenog celera, 2 tvrdo obarena i na kocke isecena
jajetao 50 gr sitno isecene salame. Sve ovo izmesati u posudi
pa naliti uljem, sircetom, posoliti i dodati sok od limuna.
Izmesati pa staviti u cetku pa staviti da se ocedi od tecnosti
i tek tada sipati na posudu i sluziti.
