    • Singleton Park celebrates an evening of music and song in its seventh BBC Proms in the Park from Swansea.


      The BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Swansea Bach Choir with conductor Grant Llewellyn and guests Only Men Aloud and soprano Elin Manahan Thomas bring an evening of rousing choruses and orchestral favourites to the city and link up with the Royal Albert Hall and parks across the UK for the traditional Last Night celebrations.


      A Community Stage will host pre-concert performances, and audience-participation singing and fireworks will make it a night to remember.

    Synopsis


    Music icon Barry Manilow performs live at BBC Proms in the Park - the annual extravaganza held in London's Hyde Park that allows music lovers to enjoy the magic and majesty of the much-loved Last Night of the Proms.


    He joins a star-studded line-up that includes the award-winning mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins, who's performing at the Proms in the Park concert for the very first time. The event also sees performances from acclaimed Icelandic tenor sensation Garðar Thór Cortes; the string quartet Escala; and the BBC Concert Orchestra, under the baton of Martin Yates.


    It culminates in a live video link-up with the Royal Albert Hall and a nationwide sing-along to traditional favourites including Jerusalem and Rule Britannia, with the help of the Royal Choral Society. As ever, crowds are encouraged to bring picnics and flags, to sing along and enjoy the music and fireworks.

    Tickets are now on sale for Salford’s BBC Proms in the Park which features the BBC Philharmonic and international singing legend Chris de Burgh.



    The event on Saturday 12 September will bring the magic of the Last Night of the Proms to Buile Hill Park in Salford.



    The concert, led by conductor Stephen Bell, is part of the BBC’s prestigious Last Night of the Proms TV coverage, including a live link from Buile Hill Park to the Royal Albert Hall.



    Also appearing at the Buile Hill Park extravaganza will be mezzo soprano Juliette Pochin, Salford’s very own opera star Jon Christos and Jenny Williams, one of Britain’s top young classical singers.



    The programme will include popular tunes and rousing classics and end with a spectacular firework display.
