do allow regular--and short--sharing time

using funds

don't limit technology to labs

there must be computers for student use in each classroom

do show what's possible and have sharing time

wiki to share ppts in another country and take time away from class to make a comment on the wiki

Don't buy expensive software a teacher hasn't been used

Dr Marzano ??

Do learn what's freely available

don't buy it unless the teacher knows the free stuff

idea google sketchup

shadows change with month of year

can download models in Google 3D warehouse

Don't blanket the campus with expensive hardware

when other teachers do good stuff, celebrate it

others will want to come on board

training

Don't require teachers to be tech experts

video project: grade the script, much more than the video

45 second limit because it focuses them on the principle they're trying to convey

limit: no death and no violence

can work alone or with 1 or 2 others

if you don't want to make a video, you can turn in a poster--no one ever does it

we will watch them all in class

Do: remind teachers of their expertise.

Don't: start with standards

the term ain't gonna get us there

Do show something fun.

Don't site everyone in a lab for training

Do: allow regular--and short--sharing time
