Loud and Clear: Students Find Their Voices Through Multimedia | Edutopia

  • Multimedia tools are introduced through projects in several different formats: documentaries, music, experimental video, advocacy/selling ideas, and storytelling/feature production. Content of the projects comes from the students and is often based on assignments given in other classes. Molina's sweatshop project fulfilled an assignment in her economics class. Using up-to-date "presentation of learned information makes for realistic, contextual, emotional connections" to what is learned, says Torres.

edubloggercon » San Antonio 2008 Session Offers

  • Voting

At the start of EduBloggerCon (the actual day) we'll take a vote on all sessions and determine which sessions to put in the formal schedule. Because of the number of sessions and the length of their descriptions, you may want to read them over a day or two in advance! You can currently use the voting system which will provide us with a bit of a straw poll, but be aware that we will clear those results the morning of EduBloggerCon and have some live voting. The sessions will be scheduled into the day based on popularity, with the most popular ones being used to fill the first track, then the next most popular for the second track, and maybe even creating a third track (with the current number of participants, we may want three tracks to keep the groups a reasonable size).

You can vote either by texting your votes or by clicking through to the PollEverywhere.com site (I'll be adding the direct link soon). You can vote for as many different sessions as you like, but please do not vote more than once for a particular session (this is not American Idol!) To vote by cell phone / text message, send a text message to the number 41411 that looks like this: cast 1234 (using the actual number given).
