The Small Object Steno Pad

  • The Small Object is my shop + my name is Sarah Neuburger. I was born in the Midwest and raised in the South, I spent most of my childhood mapping out elaborate neighborhood monorail bicycle map systems, singing "It's a Small World" until my mother could take no more and teaching my inanimate objects how to color, count and sew. After spending some time hopping from Brooklyn to Manhattan to Jersey City, I left the island with a Masters degree from the School of Visual Arts and retreated back to the land of boiled peanuts + sweet iced tea. And now, I run this little cottage industry for my own goods that offers up delightful, eccentric everyday objects--from original artwork to paper goods + housewares. To date, I have made more than 500 Little Small Clothespin People which, if you multiply that by a million, is more than U.S. population this year. Holy moly.

Lorena Siminovich - Illustration

  • Lorena Siminovich

I started drawing when I was very young, and couldn't seem to stop. I used to sit in my room and fill sheet after sheet. There was always excitement in those first moments, when I stared at the blank page. I still find the potential of empty space vaguely intoxicating.

I obtained a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and opened Azur, a design firm located in downtown Buenos Aires. I learned a lot during those five years, working with a great team of designers and very faithful clients. We designed a variety of projects, from postage stamps to books.

Five years ago I moved to New York, and decided to dedicate more time to illustration. A helpless optimist, I'm a true believer that once you make a commitment, the universe conspires to help you. The streets of New York certainly came together and provided me with an enduring grid of work, love, and friends.

In 2006 I moved from Brooklyn to San Francisco. I now divide my time between my new wall decor company,Petit Collage and freelance illustration.

enfant terrible – style for baby & child

  • enfant terrible, a boutique for babies and children, was dreamt up in style and in sustainability.

With the sentiment of becoming more selective in ones purchases and less acquisitive, the collection at enfant terrible has been thoughtfully curated with great care. An emphasis has been placed on timelessness and modesty, on simplicity and utility, and the outcome is an intimate offering of items chosen as much for their restrained character as their 'pass-it-down' potential.

enfant terrible is conscious of our collective impact on our ecology and our sociology, and operates with absolute respect for and responsibility of the wider ecological and social effects of our acts, reaching beyond the immediacy of the present moment.

enfant terrible hopes to become a firm mainstay of understated and quiet elegance in an environment oversaturated with tastelessness and noise. Please stay and take a peek around. And please do come and visit often.
