-
The alpha & omega cut downs the left & right margin of the DIV respectively in order to accommodate the grid in another grid.

Not only that, but I also decided to set up a few TLDs to separate my sites. I use .ppm for my personal and freelance sites, .dev for my experimental stuff, and .bsi for my company work. This allows me to separate sites like so:
Sites
|-- bsi
| |-- this
| |-- that
| `-- theother
|-- dev
| |-- experiment1
| |-- experiment2
| |-- youget
| `-- thepoint
`-- ppm
|-- postpostmodern

You can set up TLDs to resolve to your local IP address. So, anything.dev and anything.test will automatically stay local.

My mod_rewrite rules make my website stop loading.
-
Some downloadable PHP software packages use mod_rewrite to do dynamic URL rewriting. If the rewrite directives (contained in .htaccess files) seem to make your website hang indefinitely, they are probably causing an infinite loop. You can fix this by adding a "RewriteBase" directive to the .htaccess file that has your other rewrite directives.
Apache Multiple VirtualDocumentRoot - Stack Overflow
My aha moment with Apache VirtualDocumentRoots
-
Apache typically will pick the first virtual host whose
ServerNameorServerAliasmatches the host name provided in theHostHTTP header. In your case, since you have noServerNamedirectives, Apache supposedly uses a reverse DNS lookup on the IP address to fake a server name, and presuming that the reverse DNS leads to domain.com, which doesn't match, Apache then defaults to the first virtual host. Sounds complicated, I know... the bottom line is, you should useServerNameandServerAliasto make the configuration explicit. Try something more like this:
Building Drupal installation profiles | Damien's Site
-
An install profile allows you to build a standard toolkit for your new Drupal sites. Supposing you always do articles the same way, photo galleries the same way, have the same elaborate Contact Us page built with Webform - that can all be placed in an install profile to make future projects quicker.
-
You can use table prefixes, which lets you use the same database for multiple purposes, including multiple Drupal sites. Or maybe you want to share the user tables across multiple sites..
