This says it'll let me backup my follower list and tweets, although Twitter turns out not to keep all tweets! Not yet tried out.

Looks like a good search for 'buzz' e.g. info on recent events. Searches blogs, Twitter, etc etc.

This helped me understand why people use Twitter, but I'm not taking the plunge myself. Having a swish phone and an unlimited text plan might encourage me :)
