Tumblr
-
Why have I not heard of Tumblr before now. It makes quick, short, blog posting simple and allows lots of customization and advanced features. I'll be looking into this more in the near future and possibly moving some of my life-blogging efforts to it.

Clean up your Wiener Poopie for Jesus
-
A ransom note received by Jean Mansel of Kent County, Michigan.
"We are holding Jesus ransom until you clean up the poopie from your
wieners and trust us we see you take your wieners for long walks
without picking up their poopie in our yards. This has upset us dearly
so please clean up all the weiner poopie, if you want to see Jesus
unharmed." - revjim on 2008-02-12

What to do in a room full of TVs
-
Think about it. You're at one of the biggest electronics conventions ever, there are thousands and thousands of TVs everywhere, and no one bothers to cover the IR ports on the front of them. Can you blame Gizmodo for taking advantage of the situation?

The Bible According To Google Earth
-
Scenes from the Bible have been imagined by countless artists over the centuries, but never quite like this. God’s Eye View portrays four key Biblical events as if captured by Google Earth.
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by James Taylor
-
From 2001, hear James Taylor's beautiful rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Chistmas" and read commentary on why he choose to stick with the original lyrics instead of Sinatra's "jollyed up" version.
- revjim on 2007-12-11
-
In the past, other singers have done more upbeat versions: In the '50s, Sinatra had the line "Hang a shining star upon the highest bow" inserted in place of the darker, original line "Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow." Taylor, though, wanted to stay faithful to the Meet Me in St. Louis tone: "I always sort of thought of this song with these lyrics from the movie," he said. "And it resonates more with me this way, with the sort of sadder, more melancholy lyrics. I like it better."

someone who can fly a sleigh beyond the speed of light, and manipulate matter so he can get his big ass down multifarious chimneys, should probably have e-mail by now. I'm just sayin'.

X3watch - Accountability Software
-
So, who wants to be my accountability partner? The only downside is
that the free version only sends reports every two weeks. I'm sure
it'll be a very long list by then. - revjim on 2007-12-07
-
X3watch is an accountability software program helping with online integrity. Whenever you browse the internet and access a site which may contain questionable material, the program will record the site name. A person of your choice (an accountability partner) will receive an email containing all questionable sites you may have visited. This information is meant to encourage open and honest conversation between friends and help you be more accountable to your online adventures.
Statistics from a study on VBAC Deliveries from VBAC.com
-
Based on these statistics (0.08% of VBAC deliveries resulting in Uterine rupture), it seems that hospitals insisting on repeat Cesarean Deliveries are doing so to protect themselves and not because it is in the best interest or wishes of their patients.
- revjim on 2007-12-07
-
Among the complications the study found in women who attempted a vaginal birth
after prior Cesarean delivery were rupture of the uterus, infection of the
uterine lining, lack of oxygen to the infant brain, and infant death. The
study authors noted, however, that the risks of these complications were very low. -
Uterine rupture is the most well known complication of attempted vaginal
delivery after a prior Cesarean delivery. - 2 more annotations...

- If you're like me, always seeking larger and larger mobile phones, then this is the solution for you. The Mini-MOB crams all the features you'd expect in a mobile phone today -- including a camera and an MP3 player -- into the 1980s mobile phone styling you just can't get enough of. - revjim on 2007-12-04
