Pirate Bay lawyer calls for retrial - The Local

  • One of the groups of which Norstr�m is a signed up member is Svenska f�reningen f�r upphovsr�tt ('the Swedish Copyright Association'), where he is joined by Henrik Pont�n, Peter Danowsky and Monique Wadsted, all of whom represented the entertainment industry in the case against file sharing site The Pirate Bay.
  • The judge also sits on the board of Svenska f�reningen f�r industriellt r�ttsskydd (Swedish Association for the Protection of Industrial Property), a group actively advocating for more stringent copyright laws.

  • The prosecution didn't enhance its reputation during the case, but as Wired pointed out in an editorial, perhaps the defendants didn't, either. Their previous "swagger evaporated like salt water on a beached schooner once The Pirate Bay landed on the witness stand." Wired said:

    In the courtroom, the defendants quickly abandoned their revolutionary, free-culture ideals in favor of the simpler philosophy embraced by criminal defendants since time immemorial: I'm Not Responsible.

Pirate Bay Trial Audio Will Be Streamed Online | TorrentFreak

  • SVT will broadcast live audio from the entire trial. Additional video would’ve been nice too, but under Swedish law this is not allowed. However, to complement the audio, SVT will have a reporter in the court room adding extra information to the stream and this will be complemented by additional images uploaded to the site.
