Twitter Goes to College - US News and World Report

Though Twitter might not yet be quite as popular among students as Facebook or MySpace, a growing cadre of professors and administrators are embracing it and using it to introduce their classes to a different kind of communication and networking—one that doesn't involve "poking" friends or posting photos.

How to Present While People are Twittering | Pistachio

The more I’m allowed to interact and play with the content the more engaged and ultimately the more learning happens. The more the presentation relies on the back channel, the more I focus. Knowing that my comments are going to be seen by the presenter or live participants, seems to make me pay more attention.

100+ learning professsionals to follow on Twitter

Looking to build your twitter network? Or just want some brain power to learn from. A great list here!

If you are using Twitter or just getting started this could be your place. I tell educators when they get started to pick 20-30 people you think you can learn from and follow them, learn from them. If you do not find any professinal value in Twitter after two weeks. Don't use it....but you have to give it two weeks of being activily involved in it.

Pistachio Consulting Inc. » Twitter is my Village

  • A great post on twitter as a village. People often say they "don't get twitter" and I agree with this article. It takes a critical mass to understand the power behind it. Personal connections are great as well. With my 586 followers I've got a critical mass that allows me to learn 24/7 to tap into that village when I need to. Make the village work for you I say!

  • How does Twitter shift from idiotic to amazing? It takes a village - a critical mass of interesting people - to read and write to. When my brain started to connect with the brains (and hearts) of others, it got really, REALLY cool for me. You may be looking for like minds, or you may want to be totally shaken up by new ideas. Both work. One day I suddenly realized this was, for me, tribe-finding. For arguably the first time in my life I didn’t feel as weird and different.
