Finally we have the documentary ready for release. This is about the Flat Classroom Conference held in Qatar, January 2009. Footage is mostly from this event. This is the shorter version, a longer video is in process.

Nearly 500 educators from across Qatar attended the conference, which featured lectures and workshops with leading international experts in the field of ICT (information and communication technology) in education.
International Technology in Education Mark
The International Technology in Education Mark (ITEM) is a new accreditation scheme for International Schools currently in pilot. Based on the UK’s ICT Mark and ISTE’s NETS, the scheme enables schools to self-review their ICT provision across all areas of the school, from administration to integrating ICT into the curriculum. ITEM sets out a structure of elements, strands and aspects to facilitate self-evaluation, benchmarking and action planning. The eight elements are:

The Supreme Council for Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) and College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) hosted the second annual conference on e-education, "ICT Conference 2009: Exploring ICT in Education" on March 7 and 8, 2009 at CNA-Q's Duhail Campus.

Create the Future with Kim Cofino
PD for the QA SS on February 18 and 19 will focus on making the shift into online learning modes using mobile computing and Web 2.0. Kim Cofino will drive this shift along with QA curriculum leaders and educational technology leaders. A combination of plenary and breakout sessions will provide all SS teachers a chance to hear about and develop skills in 21st century learning modes.
