BAKERSFIELD - Being an undocumented immigrant got a child molester a reduced prison sentence, District Attorney Ed Jagels says.

Jagels issued a news release Thursday morning slamming Judge Richard Oberolzer for his decision in the case of Jose Richard Leiva, 24.

Oberholzer said he wanted to give the man the shortest possible term, so that he could be deported and not be supported, in prison, by taxpayers.

“An illegal alien child molester gets a more lenient sentence than an American would for the same crime!” Jagels said in the news release.

He said Oberholzer’s decision cannot be appealed.

Standing before a packed room decorated with his party's brightly colored signs, congressional candidate Jose Jacques Medina implores the crowd to give him its support in next month's election.
It's just another campaign stop, except that the election is hundreds of miles away in another country - Mexico - and the yellow and black signs adorning the restaurant's walls bear the emblem of the Party of the Democratic Revolution, or PRD in Spanish.

Medina is one of six U.S. residents seeking a seat in Mexico's lower house of Congress in July's midterm election. A Los Angeles labor organizer who came to the United States 30 years ago, he is eligible to hold office in Mexico because that nation considers him a citizen. He was born in Mexico City in the regional district he hopes to represent.

Students were treated to free pizza in the Student Union on Thursday afternoon, courtesy of the UB NAACP. Where they were allowed to sit, however, was based on race and ethnicity.

The NAACP hosted an event called the "Segregated Café," a simulation of past eras in which segregation existed in the United States. The mock-up featured a restaurant setting with separate dining tables and serving areas for minority and white students.

Patrons were directed to their correct places according to their race, separating many lunching companions. Reactions started off confused and quickly turned to nervous and upset. However, there was a general understanding of the experiment.

"I think something like this is good to do because we get to experience what it was like in the past," said Clyde Strokes, a sophomore business major who was forced to sit in the minority section. "But I'm still pissed."

Illegal Workers Were Allowed on Marine Base, Authorities Allege

Court documents said the immigrants worked for a company owned by Richard Eversole, 58, who was charged yesterday in U.S. District Court in Alexandria. Eversole, a U.S. citizen, obtained Department of Defense vehicle stickers from Quantico, which allowed the men to enter the base with limited inspection at the front gate, the documents said.

Also charged with conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens was Juan Martinez, 24, who was also here illegally and deported from the United States in 2004. A third man, Jacob Bocanegra, 36, was charged with unlawful reentry into the United States and remains a fugitive.

Bill Reid, special agent in charge of the Washington field office for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said the agency is trying to prevent it from happening again, especially at bases and other critical facilities such as nuclear plants.

24 illegal immigrant workers arrested at Fort Benning

COLUMBUS, Ga. Federal officials say 21 illegal immigrant workers were to appear in court today to face federal charges of identity theft and immigration violations for attempting to enter Fort Benning.
They were among 24 workers arrested Wednesday by Army security personnel and U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials while trying to enter the base to do construction work on soldiers’ barracks. The three workers who are not facing criminal charges will be placed in immigration removal proceedings.

The group includes 20 Mexican nationals, three Guatemalans and an Italian, according to a U-S Immigrations and Customs Enforcement news release.

Nine of the 21 facing charges are accused of either possessing or using fraudulent identity documents, and another was accused of re-entering the country after deportation. The remaining eleven defendants are accused of improper entry by an alien.

So, once again, illegal aliens are found to be working on military bases and what does DHS do about it? Not much! The employers’ hands are slapped and the illegals are rounded up and probably will be released. Good Grief! What does it take? Will it take a suicide bomber on post?

The men, who were doing masonry, plumbing, roofing and other construction work, were detained at the base’s gates after officers checked for valid identification.

Tuesday’s arrests appear to be part of a broader effort by federal officials to keep illegal immigrants off military bases.

Within the past 12 months, Fort Bragg officials have detained 152 others who attempted to gain access to the base with false identification, said Tom McCollum, a Fort Bragg spokesman.

Last July, 48 illegal immigrants were arrested at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.

City Council Will Consider Bilingual Pay Again

Here’s the irony: Rodriguez, Rodriguez and Gonzalez are still being detained because they are U.S. citizens and could face extradition (yeah, right).

Either way, they rot in a cell for an undetermined amount of time.

Octavio Torres Ortega, a Mexican citizen, just walked free.

"We have four counties where you have more voters registered than you have 18 and over population," Taft said.

Taft noted the role of Democrat 527 groups that have inflated Ohio’s voter registration rolls.

"We've had a lot of fraudulent voter registrations already, mostly by those 527 groups. There will be unprecedented scrutiny of this election on both sides,” he said. Taft noted that many of these new registrations appear to be fraudulent.

"A lot of these voters don't have addresses," he said of the new registrations. "When they send the postcard out to them, after they register, that comes back undeliverable. You're talking about thousands of cases like that all across the State of Ohio."

Hey, but ignore the facts. Expect to see liberal operatives chasing down cameras on election day to make up stories of Republican abuse. They are almost always proven to be baseless and idiotic. Stories such as "long lines" or "intimidation" which usually means that a poll worker discovered a Democrat voting illegally and put a stop to it.
