Cloud Antivirus splits the usual scanning process into three separate processes. The OnAccess Scan detects executing threats, the OnPrefetch Scan detects non-executing threats that are likely to run in the future, and the OnBackground Scan checks all local files when the computer is idle. Because of the way that the scans utilize idle CPU time, the background scan could still be logging when start an on-demand scan.

Over the past decade, China's economic and military strength has expanded with startling rapidity and presents a profound and unsettling change in the balance of global power and influence. Yet, despite China's signal disinterest in human rights (either for its own people or anywhere else), its equanimity toward nuclear proliferation, its insouciance with environmental degradation, and its border harassment of neighbors from Japan to India, from the South China Sea to Bhutan, and (of course) Taiwan, our leaders appear more comfortable facilitating its leadership than challenging it. Perhaps, they calculate that China has simply become too big to do otherwise. That calculation is not worthy of our ideals and represents an error of epochal proportions.

The study used McAfee’s proprietary software to examine 9.9 million Web sites under the 265 country and generic (non-country-specific) domains for signs of “malware” (such as spyware, viruses, Trojans, spam and excessive pop-up ads) or links to other suspicious Web sites. This year’s list ranked the 74 most heavily-trafficked top-level domains based on the frequency of potentially dangerous Web sites (containing malware or suspicious links) in each domain.
