Saffron Le Bon will sing, but not with Katherine Jenkins

Saffron, who is in her final year at Heathfield School in Ascot, added: "It really annoys me when people say Katherine Jenkins is so great. She may be classically trained, but she isn't even a good singer." Ouch.

WHAT'S A PR woman to do when she has a client who looks like Marilyn Monroe and sings like Maria Callas?

Katherine Jenkins tries once again to 'crack' America.

I think we've encountered this Maria Callas thing before, haven't we. It's clearly not the invention of the new PR guru. One can only assume that PR person has been briefed by Barbie.

So, just to note that she is still claiming to sing like Maria Callas.

So, still an arrogant deluded liar.

RTÉ.ie Entertainment: Katherine Jenkins is treated in hospital

Now it's nervous exhaustion. I thought she was too much of a professional to ever feel nervous (ha ha ha).

It's difficult to identify what she actually does other than go from party to party, so one does wonder what 'nervous exhaustion' is an euphemism for.

Making mum proud | Zoë's World

"... Katherine Jenkins, who must have been the busiest artist this month, launching not only an album but, on last count, 15 hair looks!"

An album, and, coo, 15 hair looks! And that's in between learning the part of Carmen, and rehearsing for her many appearances in operas. Woo!

Divas Myleene Klass and Katherine Jenkins join forces to bring opera X Factor to TV | Mail Online

Ha ha ha ha!

Loving the idea of Katherine Jenkins and Paul Potts as judges of operatic talent. Why not throw Russell Watson into the mix, too, and then we're really singing. So to speak.

Don't these telly people know that there's already been a televised contest for opera singers, that long pre-dates Britain's got an X-Idol? Cardiff Singer.

What's the betting that they'll get these pop singers to sing one of a small select number of arias - Nessun Dorma, O mio babbino caro - with a microphone, with a tiny orchestra (or probably a backing track). there will be no requirement to do ensemble work, to project the voice over a Wagnerian orchestra (without microphone) into a house, and certainly no test of acting and other stage work - juggling, cartwheels, walking up walls horizontally, falling to the ground and rolling around, lying on one's back with head in orchestra pit, lying on one's front with head in soprano's lap, that sort of thing.

It will be sanitised, anaemic and eviscerated and once again Katherine Jenkins will cite it as 'proof' of her unique ability to bring 'classical music' to 'ordinary people'

Now Katherine Jenkins breaks down on Piers Morgan show over rape attack | Mail Online

I dislike the Daily Mail, and generally I dislike the kneejerk illiterate ignorant comments that accompany their articles.

The weird thing about this is how articulate the vast majority of comments are; almost all of them in correct (informal) grammar and syntax, and the spelling mistakes are generally obvious typos.

I felt uncomfortable belittling her claims to have been 'almost raped'. I am rather relieved that other people do so, too, on the basis that it diminishes the horror faced by real victims. I don't like to accuse women of making such stories up, because that's been the attitude of society for too long - blame the victim.

And I fully accept that she was attacked, as most people have been at some time. But 'almost raped' usually involves the man getting his penis out. Or, like an acquaintance, being held prisoner in her room in residence for several hours, being sexually assaulted and having no idea - FOR SEVERAL HOURS - when or how the ordeal would end. (She used her bad experience, and her professional training, to become a police doctor.

Why Katherine Jenkins doesn’t dare be a diva - Times Online

But her new album is horrible.

“What I really didn't want it to sound like,” Jenkins says sweetly over flickering candlelight in a West London restaurant, “is that French and Saunders sketch. Did you see it? They are in a recording studio, and she is singing ‘I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY, LUCKY, LUCKY LUCKY’ and it just sounds ... . ridiculous.”

Oh dear. That’s exactly what it sounds like. Not all of it, perhaps, but quite a lot. Certainly track eight, which is, no really, a cover of Bob Marley’s No Woman No Cry. When Georgie first made dat fy-er light, I’m thinking this probably wasn’t quite what he had in mind.

WalesOnline - Lifestyle - Showbiz - Katherine Jenkins: On her plans for the future (video)

She will start working on Carmen in 2010/11. So, what is this self-styled opera singing actually currently doing to develop her so-called opera career. Sod all, it seems.

She hasn't had any offers from opera houses (oh what a surprise, we faint with surprise) but she is 'talking to someone'. In other words, she is looking for production/financial partnership to mount a vanity project - microphones and all, no doubt.

And she's not interested in being an actress - well, you ain't going to get very far in opera without acting. Mind you, her whole stage demeanour shows that it would be a bit beyond her capabilities anyway.

WalesOnline - News - Wales News - Katherine Jenkins photoshoot for her new album Believe - VIDEO

I thought one of the secrets of effective PR is not to reveal how contrived the whole exercise is, not to reveal the thinking behind the poses

The new album is 'More commercial, more crossover' - as opposed to her previous non-commercial Ars per gratia artis albums. Let's not even asked whence she has cross-overed.

Oh, and intelligent use of AutoTune there by the engineer. What an insipid, pointless song with bland crooning going on. Yuck yuck

We Love Katherine Jenkins: Kathmania grips Britain!!!

it is *truly* tragic that we won't get to hear Our Kath singing opposite Placido Domingo in Tamerlano next March but surely the opera fans must understand that her version of the love theme from The Godfather (Non canta più, per l'amore di Dio) is just as important because it will help bring classical music to the masses?

This week singer Katherine Jenkins tells Matt what makes her happy, describes being trained by Placido Domingo* and reveals that she warms up her voice in the shower.

by using the word 'yes'!

I love her plans to become an opera singer. Dreaming about it is not equivalent to having achieved it. Like I'm going to swim the channel, give birth to triplets and find a cure for insomnia. Or whatever.

Katherine Jenkins refuses to sing for Gordon Brown - Telegraph

Oh my god, I can't believe that someone in Labour Party HQ actually approached Barbie to song at Conference.

Didn't they know that she dines with Michael Ashcroft, the corrupt peer who bankrolls the Tory party?

Not very Welsh is Our Kath when it comes to party politics. Classic working class Tory (and no, I'm not being a snob, she's the one who's always banging on about her working class origins)
