"Social Media has changed the way we interact with each other forever. We are living in a totally different world than maybe two years ago and the end of this social shift is not even at sight"

"Another idea I had is that we could also outline a whole curriculum in Google Earth. Instead of one book, we look at all of the books we study over the course of a year (i.e. The Whale Rider, Greek Mythology, The Odyssey, Romeo & Juliet, etc.) and all the places those books take us"
A Day in the Life of Web 2.0, David Warlick
"An 8th grade science teacher, Ms. S, retrieves her MP3 player from the computer-connected cradle where it's spent the night scanning the 17 podcasts she subscribes to. Having detected three new programs, the computer downloaded the files and copied them to the handheld. En route to work, Ms. S inserts the device into her dash-mounted cradle and reviews the podcasts, selecting a colleague's classroom presentation on global warming and a NASA conference lecture about interstellar space travel."
Light Right - A Crash Course In Lighting Video, John Jackman
"Digital video has introduced all kinds of possibilities for do-it-yourself television in schools. But with budgets stretched tighter than ever, teachers and media specialists may despair their productions may never look better than Uncle Fred's home videos. "We can't afford better cameras," is a cry I hear often."

Educational Origami is a blog , and a wiki, about the integration of ICT into the classroom, this is one of the largest challenges that I feel we as teachers face. Its about 21st Century Learning and 21st Century Teaching. Marc Prensky coined the now popular and famous phrase "Digital natives and digital immigrants" in his two papers on digital Children. We the teachers are the immigrants and our students are the natives, brought up in a world where there has always been computers and the internet, where information is always instant and varied. Our teaching and their learning must reflect this.
I made this wiki on request from Miguel Guhlin after I blogged about matching ICT tools to traditional classroom practice and Bloom's Taxonomy. The wiki has grown a little since then.

Classroom Management in a One-to-One School District for Laptop Integration ... Irving ISD - Irving, Texas
"The key to good classroom management in a one to one school is acknowledging that there is no "magic button" technology solution that will ensure laptops are used appropriately. Traditional discipline is only one part of the puzzle. Effective instruction is even more important."
