- TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)
- A computer protocol that allows one computer to send the other a
continuous stream of information by breaking it into packets and
reassembling it at the other end, resending any packets that get lost in
the Internet. TCP uses IP to send the packets, and the two together are
referred to as TCP/IP.

You can guard against this problem with Internet Explorer's
"conditional comments" feature, which all versions of
Internet Explorer do understand. Unfortunately, conditional
comments are available only in HTML, not in a separate CSS
file. But that's OK, because you can use the conditional comments
to decide whether or not to bring in a separate CSS file
with the link element, like this:
<!--[if !IE]>-->
<link media="only screen and (max-device-width: 480px)"
rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="iphone.css"/>
<!--<![endif]-->

Is cloud computing the Hotel California of tech? | The Open Road - CNET News
In the cloud, no one cares about your software license. That is one of the most liberating--and frustrating--things about cloud computing.
Depending on your perspective, it either opens up computing or closes it off. Customers don't seem to care one way or another, happily shoveling data into cloud services like Google, Facebook, and others without (yet) wondering what will happen when they want to leave.
InfoQ: A Brief Introduction to REST
-
- Give every “thing” an ID
- Link things together
- Use standard methods
- Resources with multiple representations
- Communicate statelessly
Key REST principles
Most introductions to REST start with the formal definition and background. I’ll defer this for a while and provide a simplified, pragmatic definition: REST is a set of principles that define how Web standards, such as HTTP and URIs, are supposed to be used (which often differs quite a bit from what many people actually do). The promise is that if you adhere to REST principles while designing your application, you will end up with a system that exploits the Web’s architecture to your benefit. In summary, the five key principles are:

Discussion about NODE.London from the New Media Curating List | MAzine
-
Not only that, media art has also needed an audience. Not just an audience that is peer related but, an audience that also comes form different social contexts' other than from a technology related/educational situation. We have only just begun to get our own local audience interested and it was not easy. NODE.London has already created a new and interested audience, which was obviously evident at the catalogue event the other night and by the very real response that we are getting from new people who wish to get involved on various levels.
