Download speed: 554 kilobits per second

Test details: 405 kilobytes downloaded in 5.839 seconds.

      Receive buffer size: Not available

Our test determines the time it takes to download a large file to your PC and
reports the resulting bandwidth in kilobits per second (Kb/s).
      Internet congestion can cause wide variations in your results;
you may need to test several times to get accurate picture.
(See About Bandwidth for a detailed explanation).
In general, if your transmission speed is roughly 85 percent of the rated speed
for your connection, your setup is tweaked pretty well.

Typical rated speeds vary depending on your type of Internet connection.
Dial-up users can get up to 54 Kb/s but typical connections are in the 40s.
Cable modem users can expect from 1000 to 3000 Kb/s, the maximum rate may be
      capped by the cable company.
DSL users get from 256 Kb/s to 2000 Kb/s depending on the level
      of service you have purchased.
(Note: These are the speeds for download only; speeds for uploads are usually lower.
      See About Bandwidth for more.)

When you have loaded the PC Pitstop utility by running our Full Tests,
we can determine your receive buffer size and it will be displayed above.
Broadband users may benefit from tweaking this setting; see below.

Remember that your bandwidth measurement can vary somewhat from minute to minute,
depending on traffic at your ISP and on the Internet.
It's a good idea to measure your bandwidth several times at different times of the
      day before drawing any conclusions.
