What needs to change is the nature of the teaching and learning that is going on in our classrooms. If all we are doing is rote memorization and recall then yes I can see why the fear of devices that allow communication among students. However if we give them real world problems to solve then collaboration and cooperation through communication ie. use of digital devices will enhance the learning experience and prepare students for the real world.
