  The most significant modification and difference to Nagios is a completely new web interface based on PHP. This allows a wider circle of developers to contribute to the web interface and easier adjustments to be made by users to their individual environments. An additional module loader enables the smooth integration of extensions and addons in the Icinga web interface. Alongside the stable Icinga release, popular Nagios extensions such as PNP, NagVis, Grapher V2 and NagTrap will be available as Icinga addons.
