- The CSS width: and height: properties apply only to block elements, not to inline elements.
- The disappearing background color is caused by the fact that floated elements aren't in the normal text flow and don't have any real height. So, the whole division currently has a height of zero, which makes its background color disappear. Weird, I know. Not to worry. We're not done yet.

- - To take control of the heights and widths of the links, you need to convert them to block elements using display:block. Then, you can apply some height and width. So, add the display, height, and width properties shown below to the style rules for the links:
