CHÁW PAWÁ LÁAKNI--THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN
The Native Place Names Exhibit will complement the impending publication of the Atlas of Native Place Names. Years of linguistic and historical research have gone into documenting the presence of the Tribes in the ceded territories, the aboriginal domain. Both the atlas and the exhibit will help to perpetuate the Sahaptin language attributions for future generations. All the way from N'Chi Wana (Columbia River), to Kwsíispa (Pasco, WA), Tátwin (Dayton, WA), Íshtish (Boardman, OR), Tiléelpa (Pendleton, OR), QapQápa (LaGrande, OR), to LakáwLakaw (Enterprise, OR) and beyond, the people of Nixyáawii were there.
