10 iPhone Memory Management Tips | akosma software on 2009-12-27
-
The basic memory management rule is: for every [ alloc | retain | copy ] you have to have a [ release ] somewhere;
-
The Objective-C runtime does not allow objects to be instantiated on the stack, but only on the heap; this means that you don’t have “automatic objects”, nor things like auto_ptr objects to help you manage memory;

Mac Dev Center: Resource Programming Guide: Image, Sound, and Video Resources on 2009-12-27
-
To make image and sound resources available in Interface Builder 3.0 and later, all you have to do is add them to your Xcode project. Interface Builder automatically searches your Xcode project for resources and lists them in the library window. When you make a connection to a given resource file, Interface Builder makes a note of that connection in the nib file. At load time, the nib-loading code looks for that resource in the project bundle, where it should have been placed by Xcode at build time.

Mac Developer Tips » Objective-C: Initializers on 2009-12-27
-
When working with a class that has more than one initialization method (as shown above), it’s important that one of the initializers drives the whole process. Put another way, only one of the initializer methods does the actual work of calling the super class initializer and initializing the instance variables of the object.

Getting started with SSH - Kimmo Suominen on 2009-12-26
-
Public key cryptography uses a public key to encrypt data
and a private key to decrypt it. The name public key
comes from the fact that you can make the encryption key public without
compromising the secrecy of the data or the decryption key.What this means is that it is safe to send your public
key (i.e. the contents of the~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
file) in electronic mail or by other means e.g. to have a system
administrator of a remote site install that key into your~/.ssh/authorized_keysfile. For anyone to actually
gain access they need the corresponding private key (i.e.
the decrypted contents of~/.ssh/id_rsa) to identify
themselves.To further protect your private key you should enter a
passphrase to encrypt the key when it is stored in the filesystem. This
will prevent people from using it even if they gain access to your
files.
