As you know, my equation is CQ + PQ > IQ. Curiosity Quotient plus Passion Quotient is more important than Intelligence Quotient.
Pink: Amen. You show me a curious, intrinsically motivated kid — and I’ll show you someone who’ll leave the kid who merely complies with the rules and studies for the SAT in the dust.

In Forsyth, the district uses radius servers for centralized network management. This device identifies the districts’ computers, allowing them access to the network according to their status. Laptops that don’t pass this test are put on the district’s virtual lan. This gives them online access while keeping the user behind the district’s firewall and within its Internet filters. It keeps these computers—and their users—away from the district’s network. -

ahsawnm08p5whitneys2 » Reaction to Blogging with Pink on 2008-11-07

Live blogging with Mr. Pink was a really interesting and effective learning experience. Since Mr. Pink wrote the book, he expanded his ideas and clarified a few things. It surprised me how he just fit into the conversation we were having and cared about what we had to say. He asked questions that challenged us to think beyond the text, while never making any of us feel below him. Thanks to Mr. Pink and my classmates, I now have a better understanding of Empathy and the balance it requires.

The Fischbowl: Think Pink: A Whole New Learning Experience on 2008-11-07

Since Mr. Pink is presumably a very busy guy, he will only be live blogging that one chapter with the students. So we’ve invited a few other folks to live blog the other “Sense” chapters with the students. This includes local folks like our superintendent, our CIO, and two of our school board members, but also includes a variety of folks from around the world that are members of my personal learning network.
