Amazing to see a seaside in a capital city that's not commercially developed and monopolized by rich people. Very cozy and intimate.

Language politics: Germany, Japan, Cote d'Ivoire - James Fallows on 2009-11-02

I don't they are bizarre at all. These "deep reading" skills are not obvious, but they are very valuable, increasingly rare and should definitely be taught.

I wonder about young people, who do not know of a life before the Internet, and who, growing up “digitized,” might not prefer reading online where they are the pilots of their own information pathways.
