We would compare with other industrialized nations if we educated our students the way they do: Ones that are going to college go to a HS that prepared them for that, and only this group is tested. Those not going on to college go to an apprenticeship school and are not tested.
There are tests that help determine the route the students are taking. This provides a better educational experience for all stakeholders, and has good results. Why can't we adjust our system in such a way?
