Perhaps the USA's reputation as a litigious society rife with insurance fraud puts insurers off. When people abuse the system, the system responds by limiting opportunities for abuse. We see this in our lack of insurance options compared to the UK. I hope that we can all treat our home exchange community with the respect it needs to stay a healthy, accessible system as well.
