Putting You in Charge of Your Own Health Care | by David McKalip, M.D. on 2009-08-02
-
The current proposals for reform are cloaked as big changes, but as it turns out, they are actually more of the same.
-
turn more control over to the government and insurance companies while politicians and special interests jockey for credit and work behind the scenes to benefit
-
-
at the expense of individual Americans
-
Kenneth LeFebvre on 2009-08-02
100% of what government does is "at the expense of individual Americans."
That is why the government is, by definition, the ENEMY of the PEOPLE.
-
the health reform proposals will expand the control over health care held by third party payers (insurance companies and government)
-
removed the consumer from the decision
-
Instead of asking your doctor, "Do I really need another pill" or an MRI, or a surgery, consumers take the "free" benefit.
-
This leads to what the government and insurance companies call "over-utilization"
-
requiring that young and healthy people pay the same high insurance rate as older and sicker patients
-
allowing anyone to buy insurance (even after they are sick or injured!)
-
mandating that every insurance policy cover some things that not everyone wants to buy insurance for (like hair prosthesis, acupuncture, chiropractic care, maternity care for men and Viagra for women).
-
Kenneth LeFebvre on 2009-08-02
If NO insurance covered these procedures, they would be more affordable across the board.
-
The way we pay for health care must change.
-
Kenneth LeFebvre on 2009-08-02
The ONLY long-term solution that is IN MY BEST INTEREST, is to eradicate insurance for day-to-day health care expenses, and force me to be responsible for taking care of myself.
-
we can put the control of health care financing right where it belongs: into your hands.

You can demand that the government stay out of the patient-physician relationship and not institute cookbook medicine and rationing.

Keep the government out of charity, too. Let private charities handle this, which they would do, if they didn't have to compete with tax-funded welfare programs.

Firearms Training by Michael Gaddy on 2009-07-27
-
"You play
the way you practice"
-
A large number
of people, both those who are new to firearms self-defense and those
who have been shooting for years, consider practicing at bull’s-eye
targets adequate for self-defense. Such training will only be adequate
in the unlikely event an individual is attacked by a target with
rings and numbers.
-
-
CCWs exist as revenue producing programs for the state
and those it sanctions as trainers. It also provides the state with
a database of what they consider to be "domestic terrorists"
and/or their greatest threat.
-
To beg and pay the state for permission
to do that which one already has the right to do is beyond the pale.
-
The very idea
that only those sanctioned by the state have the right to defend
themselves should be repugnant to all who claim to cherish freedom.
-
The vast majority
of instructors have never been in a situation where they were forced
to defend their lives or the lives of others with deadly force.
-
Would you rather your pilot have actual flight experience or someone
who has only read a manual on flying?
-
Firearms instructors
who profess undying allegiance to the right to defend oneself from
personal attack and tyrannical government who support a candidate
such as Bush or Condoleezza Rice is analogous to a man professing
his wife to be faithful because she is only sleeping with three
other men!
-
Preparing to
defend yourself or your loved ones with a firearm should be given
the most serious consideration.
-
If you would not trust your money
to
Paul
Krugman; your religious beliefs to
Pat
Robertson; your foreign policy to
Dick
Cheney; the future of this nation to
Obama or the right to defend yourself to
Charles
Schumer, why would you trust your self-defense training to someone
who teaches based on theory and supports the lesser of two evils
when it comes to politicians?

How They Lie About Lincoln by Thomas DiLorenzo on 2009-07-21
-
There would
be very stiff competition indeed for the literary award of "Most
Absurd Lies and Myths About Lincoln."
-
It seems as
though every time Newt Gingrich, who never served in the military
himself, begins making the case for sending other peoples’ children
off to die in another unnecessary war, he starts quoting Lincoln.
-
-
It is well
known that the founding fathers feared democracy.
-
Gingrich and Forstchen unwittingly admit that their hero
literally destroyed the constitution of the founding fathers
-
the Lincoln Memorial is a temple to the idea that government in
America is not voluntary
-
Kenneth LeFebvre on 2009-07-21
This is the essence of oppression and slavery.
It is fittingly ironic that Lincoln is, superficially, the symbol of freedom from slavery, while in substance, he symbolizes the extension of slavery to all citizens.
-
Lincoln micromanaged the murder of
some 350,000 fellow Americans, including more than 50,000 civilians,
in order to "prove" his point that the central government
is indeed not voluntary, the states were never sovereign (so he
said), and that any group of citizens who contemplate leaving it
will be killed en masse, their cities and towns burned to the ground,
and their wealth and personal belongings confiscated by the U.S.
Army.
-
To Gingrich
and Fortschen, this is how America became "united." To
me, it sounds more like how Soviet Russia was "united"
in its own "glorious union." Do these men really believe
that Southerners in 1866 felt "united" with their fellow
citizens in the North?
-
That Lincoln
"had no faith" is no secret to the "Lincoln scholars."
-
They apparently write this
on the basis of the fact that Lincoln, like Bill Clinton, was fond
of quoting Scripture in political speeches.
-
Gingrich
and Fortschen simply lie about this by writing that Lincoln "was
a man of deep and abiding faith."
-
General
Sherman wrote that Lincoln "especially enjoyed" his stories
of how Southern women, children and old men were terrorized by Sherman’s
"bummers," as his looting, pillaging, plundering, and
raping "soldiers" were called.
-
They list no
sources or references when they write this, only saying that they
come from "stories."
-
They say this to give their readers the impression
that Lincoln was enlightened on the issue of race. He was not. He
was as much a white supremacist as any man alive.
-
At this
meeting Lincoln told the delegation of free black men that "You
and we are different races. We have between us a broader difference
than exists between almost any other two races . . . . This physical
difference is a great disadvantage to us both . . . and affords
a reason at least why we should be separated . . . . It is better
for us both, therefore, to be separate."
-
Neocons
will apparently never stop lying about Lincoln, but we can all stop
believing their lies.

The Truth of the Matter (about the GM/Chrysler dealer shut-downs) on 2009-07-02
-
The REAL reason for these terminations, under the umbrella of a chapter 11 bankruptcy, is to eliminate dealers who have stood up to them, refusing to be “team players” on a team that was very obviously losing the game.
-
Actions such as these have destroyed GM’s credibility.
-
-
the truth is dealers cost them very little.
-
GM has overpriced their product to provide the gross margin to pay these incentives.
-
Regardless of who sells the vehicle, the incentives become a cost of sale.
-
SFE was what internally GM refers to as a self-funding program.
-
It is computed into the cost of each vehicle.
-
The number of dealers has absolutely no bearing on this cost.
-
When the vehicle is produced, it is immediately billed to the dealer. The manufacturer gets paid immediately!
-
The number of dealers does not affect this cost! The number of vehicles sold does.
-
None of the “so called” dealer support systems listed above are affected by the number of dealers! If GM thinks they can eliminate these costs of sales, they can do so without throwing 2,300 dealers or 1,323 dealers, whichever number is the correct one, in the street.
-
GM and Chrysler; as well as the Treasury Department and the American Public (now stockholders), are on a path of self-destruction by eliminating dealers.
-
General Motors Corporation and Chrysler along with the whiz kids from the Treasury Department have effectively destroyed the value of their franchises.
