Kellie 80's Profile

I taught HS English for 13 years & then moved into a new position as Instructional Technology Coordinator at another high school 4 years ago. Also a Rockies fan, seriously.

    • The slow, sprawling, omnivorous quality of East of Eden has long disturbed some readers, as have the obvious drops in temperature, the intellectual and emotional laxity, and the novel's tendency to split into dual narratives that don't seem to come together for every critic in a convincing manner.

Okay - I'll admit this is a picky point, but I find the title of this grant interesting. It's not "Learners of the Future" but "Classrooms of the Future." While I think it is (obviously) important to have classroom technology in place, I think it's more important to have student-based pedagogy in place. Hopefully that will be a result of this grant funding.

Wave of the future or wave of the present/past? Nice to see that they are trying to get some basics into classrooms, but this doesn't sound to me like the instruction itself has changed.

Wave of the future or wave of the present? The tools being talked about here are not exactly "new" technologies, but I like that they are at least recognizing value.
