Online conferences for professional development | LearnCentral on 2009-08-30

I'm intrigued by the degree to which holding a conference completely online still in many ways mirrors the F2F events, which may just be a part of the transition to newer models. When you're not F2F, you don't have the typical meeting restraints of time and space which often dictate as many meetings as possible for the time available, and limiting the numbers who can attend specific sessions. For instance, online conferences could be for 1 hour a day for two or three weeks instead of 8 hours a day for two or three days.
