I use Diigo because I have a strong believe that through social networking technologies government can listen and respond better to its people. This web 2.0 participation is personal and does not represent the United States Department of Commerce.

Three days of conference for just over $4000? I think I'll save my money for now and take a trip to space in 20 years at the same price.

Federal News Radio 1500 AM: OMB's Kundra sees innovation in the cloud on 2009-03-10
-
"I reject the idea that the federal government cannot innovate," Kundra says. "We have a tremendous asset in the public sector - the employees who have been here for many years and understand the problems. But part of the problem is they are not encouraged to take certain risks; they are not encouraged to experiment in the Petri dish of innovation, to rethink how business processes are being run. They are encouraged over and over again based on bureaucratic processes to continue down the same path that ends up costing a lot more money, takes too many years and unfortunately too often ended in failed projects. I would like tap into that spirit of innovation and test out some of those new ideas especially when it comes to new technologies."

This is possibly the most misdirecting title of a press release that I have ever read.

I find this to be an excellent balance between providing functionality and respecting privacy.
