Education: As a result of our partnerships with educational
institutions and work with local government, more than 7000 students are
enrolled in NIU educational programs at university regional centers in Hoffman
Estates, Naperville and Rockford, as well as area community colleges and other
locations.

Government & Non-profit: Our yearly research and
publications like the Report on the State of Working Illinois have provided
information and guidance to local governments and non-profit groups on
expansion, employee satisfaction and change management. Customized research,
strategic planning services, data management and mapping services have also
aided these groups in their complex decision-making.

Business & Industry:  Outreach’s partnerships
and commitment to support innovation in Illinois have led to the creation of
business centers like the Illinois Manufacturing Extension Center (IMEC) and the Northern Illinois
Technology Enterprise Center (NITEC). Professional staff at these and other
centers devote their time to the development of ideas, targeting of funding
opportunities, and mentorship of new business owners, inventors, and other local
innovators.

Associations: With plans for expansion of services, NIU
Outreach has consistently offered customized research reports to associations,
workforce development services, meeting planning and space, professional
development opportunities and data management.

Healthcare: Along with our local and other university
partners NIU Outreach has recently launched the Proton Therapy Treatment
Facility. Capitalizing on the university’s existing resources and connections in
Fermilab, this center will increase the availability of specialized healthcare
in Illinois.
