I wonder. Are we facing a restructuring of the world’s sovereignty patterns, where national sovereignty weakens even more than it already has? Result being de facto world government by unaligned financial interests? Isn’t the word “multinational” another way of saying answerable to no country at all, and power-consolidating self-interest as the overwhelming goal, at the cost of freedom and quality of life for most people?

Isn’t it leading to even more chaos than we have now, which further feeds the unaligned beast (too big to fail), thriving on its own greed, and ceding more and more control of our lives to unaccountable decision makers in deep camouflage in the shadows. It seems to me that national sovereignty must be a priority at all costs, by means like those suggested by Mr. Krugman. At least by guarding U.S. sovereignty, we the people will have some say in the quality of our lives.
