  • Proactive Investors UK - Oxford BioMedica looks to expand market for cancer drug TroVax, says cash burn in line on 2009-11-20
    • The company is also looking to expand the market opportunity and accelerate the development timelines for its drug for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, ProSavin, by using a simpler injection technique for the administration of the drug that reduces surgery time and escalate to the allometric human equivalent of the highly efficacious preclinical dose level. This proposal is currently being evaluated by French drugs watchdog  AFSSAPS.
    • The data reported from the Phase I/II dose-escalation study of ProSavin that was reported in October showed greater improvements in motor function from patients at the second dose level at their six-month assessments compared to three months with the maximum improvement reaching 53% and the average was 34% relative to baseline. If confirmed in placebo-controlled studies, the drug would represent a significant advance to current treatment options.
