ast night the bottom of the screen started to flicker and then it made a few popping sounds and turned itself off. Today it will turn on but then makes a small pop and turns itself off within 20 seconds.

Your fault symptoms can be caused by a few things but the most common is dry joints on or failure of the frame IC.

I recommend you get it looked at by an experienced TV engineer...I do not recommend you having a go yourself at repairing it.

Does anyone at least know of a good resource to determine if this video card has TV-OUT capability?

I know that looking at the NVIDIA Control Panel that I can force a TV/Display detection... but does that really mean that the card supports TV-OUT? Are the drivers that smart to know the difference between a card that has TV-OUT and a card that doesn't?

I'd like to know this before I throw over 60 bucks down the drain for a converter box.

The NVidia GeForce 9600M GS does NOT support TV-OUT.

Yes you might be able to get a flickering screen, or some single color with a slower refresh rate... still can't use it.

The 9600M GS needs a video converter box.

I saw one on ebay for around 40.

Daarnaast heb ik besloten, grotendeels mede dankzij reacties in dit topic, er (in ieder geval in eerste instantie) geen extra videokaart in te doen voor de tv out, maar mijn eigen gebakken SCART -> VGA kabel te gebruiken. Heb nog van niemand gelezen hoe het bee
