• They are primarily domestic. They had these huge protests over the winter, which, even factoring in all the foreign incitement, at root also reflected genuine widespread domestic discontent, at the very least about the economic conditions in Iran. Those conditions are not going to be resolved by several tens of billions of dollars in unfrozen Iranian assets being returned to the country.

      

• More broadly, people in the region have seen what happened. They saw that Iran negotiated in good faith, signed an agreement in good faith, implemented it in good faith, and what it got in exchange was the renunciation of that agreement and two wars.
