  • Kids amaze me. I can’t imagine not sleeping on a long flight like that.

And I know just how your daughter felt. I’ve wanted to holler, “Yay, America!” on a couple flights myself when returning home. Made me smile reading about it.

  • I’ve been working in the new media space for a couple years now and it seems that church adoption of social media is lagging behind business adoption.

And really it makes no sense. It can be challenging to measure ROI for business involvement with social media. But churches are all about people and relationships already. Or at least they are supposed to be anyway.

  • I like the two houses better because it makes more sense to me with the "next door" reference.

  • I sometimes wonder which is more important, our area of expertise or our area of passion. Two years ago I quit my job in the maritime industry (a career path I'd been on for close to 20 years) to start a new media consulting company.

The only experience I had in that field was as a hobby.

If the point is the gospel is not about the money then it cuts both ways. Not only are poor people not automatically ungodly, but the same applies to the wealthy too.

The key is for believers to search the scriptures for themselves so they can grow in wisdom and discern which leaders are preaching the truth.

  • Both parts of this equation are important. Often there's more to doing things right than basic ethics.

I think the key is to strive for excellence in both areas. Since I have a perfectionist streak I tend to err too far toward the "doing it right" at the cost of getting as much done as I should.

  • Heya Robert! I think memory is a bit like a muscle that can be trained and improved. I’m getting better at remembering people’s names because I decided to make it a priority. I’m guessing that we can get better at sharing our stories over time. The key is to get the crowbars out more often!

  • That’s a powerful story, Billy, and a good reminder of what the holiday season is all about. Thanks for sharing it with us!

  • God can indeed give us wisdom in dealing with a tough boss. Unfortunately not every situation can be defused though. I once had a boss that was so difficult, in the end God moved me out of that place to a new job altogether to resolve it for me.

  • I appreciate that you point out that homosexuality is one of many ways we can sin. Too many believers seem to lump it into a category all it's own.

Me, I was a drunk back in the day. Any
